When you say the word maintenance, you can also say the Czech word support, maintenance, or guarantee. Everyone kind of knows what it's about, but what benefit does this service actually bring in the daily life of the customer and user? What's so great about keeping a scanner under maintenance and how does it save you time and money?
Maintenance can be divided into three basic parts
Warranty
In contrast to the private sector, which is governed by the Civil Code, the business differs in that the guarantee for equipment is dealt with in the form of contractual terms and conditions, and is not automatically given. Creaform scanners are always purchased with the first year of warranty, and other years are dealt with individually according to customer needs.
As a rule, the equation applies that the more user-friendly the scanner is, the more technically complex the entire solution tends to be. It is no different with Creaform scanners. All scanners are literally "inflated" with the latest technologies, electronics and precise optics. If there is a problem, Creaform always solves repairs or even replaces the device free of charge as part of maintenance. For the peace of mind of customers and operators themselves, it is good to know that they are always taken care of professionally. In the event that the customer is under valid maintenance, in such cases it also has the highest priority and Creaform handles everything with maximum speed.
updates
In today's world of technology and IT, both industries are practically constantly evolving. Faster and more powerful computers make it possible to develop faster and more accurate technologies, and vice versa. The need for more advanced technology is pushing IT to develop faster chips and larger and faster storage media.
In this world, it is important to keep the software part of the device up-to-date so that the offered hardware potential can be used. But it is not only this side of things that pushes developers to create new versions. These are primarily new possibilities and needs of the industry. Reverse engineering needs new tools to maximize the speed of creating parametric CAD models for production. In the inspection, these are customer requirements for measurement protocols. Increasingly, users are faced with issues of geometric tolerances, trend analyzes and the like during quality control. A color map of deviations and a few annotations are no longer enough, but there are requirements for an accurate and detailed analysis of products. Developers have to respond to all this and implement it in new versions. The trend is uncompromising and updates help keep pace with the demand and needs of today's industry.
Technical support + calibration
With some exaggeration, it can be said that this is one of the most important parts of maintenance. In an ideal world, everything works as it should, the device produces hundreds of scans, programs run and CAD models or measurement protocols fall one after the other, technical support silently watches and watches everything from afar.
In the real world, technical support functions as a backup in case some unknown, question, or any unexpected problem intrudes into the ideal world. In the Czech Republic, and therefore in our world, we have two technical supports.
Basic technical support comes directly from the manufacturer. There, they are able to solve the fundamental issues that only the manufacturer has the right and the ability to deal with. Communication takes place in all recognized world languages, except Czech. 😊
The second support is provided by our SolidVision technician here in the Czech Republic. He solves everyday questions with you, helps with settings if you have forgotten something, walks you through the parameters if you don't know how to use them and gives advice remotely if you encounter any problems. He arranges with you the course of calibration at the manufacturer including transport, updating programs including licenses. They handle your accessory needs and complaints in case something doesn't work. Last but not least, he is a negotiator and mediator between you and the manufacturer's technical support. With our technical support, you solve everything in Czech, we ensure communication in English for you.
Calibration
ISO17025 certification is the new standard for Creaform scanners and their calibration laboratories. The manufacturer's recommendation is to perform calibration once a year. Each calibration is certified by a calibration certificate for the accuracy and reliability of the device. The manufacturer's recommendation is one thing, each customer's internal settings are another. There are customers who calibrate every year, as regular audits require it, others calibrate every 2 years, some every 3 years, it really is an individual setting of each company.
Each maintenance always includes one free calibration and it is up to customers whether they use this option or not.
As you can see, maintenance is not just a guarantee for the device, but is really a comprehensive package of services that we provide together with the manufacturer to our customers in the field of 3D scanning. Convenience and the certainty that someone will take care of you in case of need is what every customer gets together with maintenance.
