Creaform 3D has been developing hand-held 3D scanners since 2007 and is constantly trying to improve its products and direct them in such a way that their solutions suit customers as much as possible.
In the new version of the VXelements software (utility software for Creaform 3D scanners), we will already encounter a new way of licensing. With cloud licensing.
Applies to modules: VXmodel, VXinspect, VXscan-R, VXtrack, VXintegrity
Customers who have purchased one of the add-on modules (or more) now do not activate these products by online activation (the license is linked to the given computer), but users draw the owned license only when they actually use it.
What does it mean?
When starting the VXelements program and activating one of the modules, the program connects to the manufacturer's server and checks whether the logged-in user has an available license. If yes, then the module is activated and it is recorded on the server that this license is used by computer XY. If another user tries to activate the given module on another computer, the program will tell him that the given license is used by user XY.
What if I need to use the program and I know I won't have internet access?
No problem. The necessary license(s) can be reserved for a period of 30 days in the VXelements program. After 30 days, you must reconnect to the Internet and renew your license(s). Or, on the contrary, they can be returned to the server and others can use them again.
